The Thanksgiving and Christmas season is upon us. Before continuing to read, I would like to ask you to stop and be thankful for all of God's blessings, mercy, and grace!

"Tis the season" to be a witness for the Lord. The book of Luke closes in chapter 24, verse 48 with Christ speaking and commanding those present by saying, "And ye are witnesses of these things." This is not an invitation to witness. It is not a "... ye shall be witnesses ..." as in Acts 1:8. It is a "... ye are witnesses ..."

In Acts 1:8: "... ye shall be witnesses ..."
In Matthew 28:19: "Go ye therefore, ..."
In John 15:17: "These things I command you, ..."
In Acts 1:22: He speaks of being a witness.
In Acts 3:15: "... whereof we are witnesses."

In Acts 4:29-33 we notice that:
There's boldness to witness.
There's power to witness.
There's grace to witness.
There's opportunity to witness.
There's reason to witness.

29 "And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word,"
30 "By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus."
31 "And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness."
32 "And the multitude of them that believed were of one heart and of one soul: neither said any of them that ought of the things which he possessed was his own; but they had all things common."
33 "And with great power gave the apostles witness of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus: and great grace was upon them all."

In Acts 5:32: "And we are his witnesses of these things; ..."
In Acts 10:39: "And we are witnesses of all things which he did ..."
In Acts 10:41: Chosen by God to witness for Him.

The questions really are not: Do we know to witness? But do we witness? Are we witnessing? May I ask you today to muster up enough boldness to witness to someone about your God.
