1 And in that day thou shalt say, O LORD, I will praise thee: though thou wast angry with me, thine anger is turned away, and thou comfortedst me.
2 Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation.
3 Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation.
4 And in that day shall ye say, Praise the LORD, call upon his name, declare his doings among the people, make mention that his name is exalted.
5 Sing unto the LORD; for he hath done excellent things: this is known in all the earth.
6 Cry out and shout, thou inhabitant of Zion: for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of thee.
Verse 3 is our theme verse for 2018, "Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation." Just a few thoughts to put our minds on this verse today.
Joy. John 15:11, "These things have I spoken unto you, that my joy might remain in you, and that your joy might be full." Our Saviour desires us to joy in Him. He alone is worthy of praise and in Him is great joy. A part of the fruit of the Spirit in Galatians 5 is joy (verse 22). May we rejoice in our salvation today and also joy in Him throughout the day.
Draw. It takes effort on our part to actively and joyfully pursue fellowship with God. He desires to hear from us, but we must make time and long for Him, as He does for us. He is awaiting your conversation (prayer time) with Him today. Take a few moments right now and get alone with Him. Matthew 6:6 says, "But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly." Find a "closet." Take the time and make the effort to reach out and "... come boldly unto the throne of grace, ..." (Hebrews 4:16) in prayer.
Wells. Supply ... God's provision. Neither you nor I will ever find them empty. He is sufficient. Paul spoke of His sufficiency when dealing with his own infirmities (2 Corinthians 12:9). You will find the "well" with plenty of supply. 2 Corinthians 3:5 states, "Not that we are sufficient of ourselves to think any thing as of ourselves; but our sufficiency is of God;" May we rest in Him today.
Salvation. Rejoice a moment in yours! Remember back when! Pray for the one who led you to Christ! Is there someone today along your path of life that is in need of salvation? Will you right now make a commitment to God to witness to someone about their salvation?
